Academy International Wilanów

The effective program of bilingual language education in Academy International facilities is based on the CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) method. This means simultaneous transmission of content related to a specific area taught and foreign language learning. The child learns the environment described by the teacher in English during play and daily activities.

In pre-school groups, learning English through fun lasts several hours a day. In addition, children realize one or two approximately 30-minute educational cycles according to the curriculum. In all Academy International facilities, a part of the communication with the children takes place exclusively in English – the pupils have the opportunity to interact with the language not only during classes but also at the playground, during brushing teeth or in the cloakroom. This allows our pupils to learn a new language in a natural way, eliminating barriers that arise during traditional teaching.

Additionally, in groups of five- and six-year-olds, we teach children a second foreign language – Spanish.

Moreover, from the beginning of pre-school to the end of school, we develop children’s logical thinking skills thanks to the original program adapted to subsequent stages of their development – from logic games, through chess to the extended mathematics program in elementary school.

We carry out educational activities based on the certified international project “Dalton International”.   The Dalton plan is based on the individual work of pupils, which allows to adjust the pace of learning to the actual capabilities of a given child. Thus, we teach our pupils to rely on each other, we raise their initiative and encourage them to look for the best and simplest methods of work.

Working in the Dalton environment, we shape children’s independence, ability to cooperate, sense of responsibility for own actions and we encourage them to reflect. Developing these competences in children from the early stages of their lives, we help them build self-esteem and self-confidence, thanks to which they pursue their goals with passion and fulfill their dreams.

Pre-school groups range from 10 to a maximum of 18 children. During classes at the facility and during walks care is provided by one person per ten children in the case of three-year-olds, and per twelve children in the case of four-year-olds.

For all pre-school children we organize coach trips. Children from the oldest groups can also take part in trips by public transport.

Our facilities are located in a safe environment and meet the required sanitary and fire safety standards. We have approvals that confirm high standards of safety.

In addition, our facilities are monitored by a security agency. These include systems that call intervention patrol in case of any threat.

If we are not expecting guests, the front door is locked. Please, bear it in mind and use the intercom. Apart from parents, the child can only be picked up by people who are authorized in writing and indicated in the recruitment form with the ID number and contact telephone number.

Meals are prepared in Academy International’s kitchen. Our menu is largely based on seasonal products.

We do not use trans fats, artificial food additives or monosodium glutamate; dishes also free of glucose-fructose syrup and are usually boiled or baked. We limit the use of sugar and salt. For sweetening desserts, we use only natural sugar or honey, and the flavor of dinner dishes is enriched using only natural spices.

For children with food allergies, menu that excludes dairy products and eggs is available. There is also a possibility of resigning from pork and excluding gluten products (they are not, however, prepared in a separate gluten-free zone).

Meals are served in the dining room.

Pre-school groups at Academy International operate according to the following framework schedule of the day:

9 a.m. -9.30 a.m. breakfast

9.30 a.m. -11 a.m.  English language / didactic classes

11.30 a.m. -12.30 p.m. walk / fun

12.30 p.m. -1.30 p.m.  dinner

1.30 p.m. -2.30 p.m.  rest / listening to fairy tales, music

2.30 p.m. -3 p.m.  Mądra Główka–Łamigłówka

3 p.m. -3.15 p.m.  1st afternoon snack

4.30 p.m. -5 p.m.  2nd afternoon snack
