Personality Development Program "PRO"

“Children are born with wings – with natural self-confidence.”

The foundation of our proprietary method of development and education is the personality development program “PRO”. It serves as the basis for educational and upbringing activities at AI. It is expanded to include elements from the Dalton plan project such as: shaping independence, responsibility, cooperation skills, and self-reflection, which we have successfully implemented in institutions for several years, adapting the program also to the home environment.

Academy International institutions have been certified by Dalton International Poland. By implementing the program, children learn through experiential play. They spread their wings, building a full, positive personality. They practice daily rituals of success, which are a helpful tool in building a sense of security, self-confidence, self-trust, empathy, internal motivation, as well as consistency and systematicity.

We support children in developing independence. Each child has the opportunity to achieve smaller and larger personal successes every day. Through the ability to take independent action and develop their own talents and interests, children develop qualities that help them shape a harmonious personality. Through conscious development and educational activities, they will be better equipped for the future, and making their own decisions will not be a problem. Children will build faith in their own abilities and gain self-confidence. Their self-confidence and sense of independence will significantly increase, making them feel more comfortable in a group and easier to establish relationships based on cooperation.

Bilingualism

Childhood curiosity knows no bounds, and the best thing we can do for the development and future of our child is to skillfully satisfy it and wisely fuel it.

Young children in preschool age are constantly working intensively on the development of speech and their native language – perfecting the pronunciation of all sounds, acquiring native syntax and morphology. They utilize their natural, innate “language learning abilities,” communicating more and more effectively with adults and peers. This natural process of language learning only concludes around the age of 8-9 years old. At Academy International, based on the knowledge of how children naturally learn their native language, we have introduced bilingual education. Our effective bilingual language education program is based on the integration of two methods – CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) method along with partial language immersion known as “submersion” in the language. The process of learning a second language proceeds analogously to learning the native language, utilizing the same mechanisms. Through immersion in the English language, children familiarize themselves with natural, authentic expressions in understandable situations from a preschooler’s daily life. Similar to learning the native language, a child first listens to the language, starts to understand it, and only after some time, when ready – begins to use it independently. We introduce children to the world of a foreign language without explanations and translations in the native language – we “immerse” them in the foreign language, just as they were “immersed” in the native language from birth.

The youngest learn language intuitively through observing their surroundings and participating in various events, adapting expressions and phrases from the language. It doesn’t have to be just one language; children can handle communications in two or several languages without much stress. Spanish – second foreign language

From the age of 5, children additionally learn a second foreign language – Spanish.

Spanish is an official language in 21 countries.

Thanks to knowing Spanish, you can read books by Cervantes, Isabel Allende, Vargas Llosa, García Márquez, or Julio Cortázar in the original language.

Skills development program, mathematical and logical thinking – "MATH 2.0"

Mathematical thinking is a way of understanding the world, its elements, and the relationships between them. It is also an excellent training for logical thinking.Our proprietary program for developing skills, mathematical and logical thinking – “MATH 2.0” as an innovation, has been implemented starting from groups of two-year-old children. With the youngest ones, we focus on building self-confidence. In preschool, we concentrate on developing children’s mathematical skills through conscious cognitive actions, building confidence in their abilities, lack of fear of failure, consistent pursuit of solutions, and exploration of the new.In children’s mathematical education, their experiences and practice are the most important. That is why our program is built on engaging, creative activities carried out in the form of play. One of the innovative elements of the program is teaching chess to all children in the 5- and 6-year-old groups. In addition, the program includes, among other things: basics of coding and programming, building and solving simple content-related tasks, various maneuvers, puzzles, and word puzzles.

Logical thinking skills, future analysis, and reasoning are capital for the future.

Healthy lifestyle

The AI Healthy Lifestyle program in preschools and nurseries supports children in building a conscious life, combining physical activity development, healthy eating habits, self-care, and caring for our planet. It also helps children develop awareness of how to be sensitive and attentive to their own needs and the needs of others.

Movement, nutrition education, and ecology are the foundation of our daily activities with children. We show how to be healthy and happy while living on a clean planet. In addition, we have expanded these activities by organizing various events with children, such as culinary workshops and botanical workshops.

Personality Development Program PRO – "I am a young leader"

Personality Development Program PRO – “I am a young leader” is the foundation of our proprietary method of development and education. It forms the basis of all educational and upbringing activities at AI. In a thoughtful way, it combines the development of soft skills with shaping leadership qualities. A young person using the program learns to discover their own power. With each day, they express their opinions more boldly, and turn stress into a driving force. Each success increases their self-confidence, which translates into an increase in the ability to use their potential. Systematic practice in various situations of positive leadership, efficient self-management, independence, teamwork skills, responsibility, self-reflection – these are important competencies that allow each of us to achieve success in everyday life.

We focus on student development through practice and experience. We offer students participation in various programs and projects such as: “TEDxKids”, volunteering, creating and participating in debates, and other events in line with the schedule.

Academy International schools implement selected elements of Dalton pedagogy.

In our daily work, we focus on developing students’ independence. It is a conscious and systematic process that takes place both during mandatory classes and during all other educational and upbringing activities. The student gains more confidence in their skills, starts making independent decisions. They become responsible, willing to cooperate, and the sense of independence makes them feel better in a group, easier to establish and build relationships based on trust.

Bilingualism

The aim of language education in AI schools is to create a bilingual environment for students, where they will acquire excellent language skills. It is important for us that students develop language fluency, enabling them to acquire new knowledge in this language, be accustomed to thinking and communicating freely in two languages. Bilingual education is also a starting point for us to open up to the international environment, giving students the opportunity to interact with peers from different parts of the world.

Effective bilingual language education programs in AI institutions are based on the CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) method and language immersion.

In our primary schools, we have adopted a bilingual model, which involves teaching selected subjects in English. In the bilingual program, our students have 10 hours of English language lessons per week. Students prepare for British Council exams: Starters, Movers, Flyers, KET, PET, FCE.

Students in our schools can boast a 100% pass rate in British Council language tests.

Numerous participants in language competitions come from Academy International schools, including a finalist and laureate of the English language curatorial competition at the provincial level (2019).

Spanish – second foreign language

Our school’s linguistic education program includes learning Spanish as a second mandatory foreign language starting from the first grade. The basic program consists of two hours of Spanish language lessons per week.

Skills development program, mathematical and logical thinking – "Advanced Mathematics"

We are convinced that mathematics is for everyone, not just for the “chosen ones,” and the key to success is the ability to convey mathematical knowledge in an interesting and age-appropriate way to children.

Successfully, we continue our AI schools’ proprietary program for developing skills, mathematical and logical thinking – “Extended Mathematics – Math 2.0.” We have already started implementing the program in our nurseries and kindergartens. It supports students in developing creative and critical thinking. Our charges develop not only creative and logical thinking but above all learn to think outside the box. They learn to analyze, infer, solve problems, overcome barriers, and gain confidence in the power of their own intellect. They find unconventional solutions in action and awaken their curiosity about the world.

Logical thinking skills, analytical competencies, analysis and inference are an investment in the future. Therefore, we systematically support students in developing and improving these skills from an early age.

“Extended Mathematics Math 2.0” is implemented in all primary school classes for 6 hours per week. The aim of the program is to support students in awakening curiosity about the world, developing logical thinking, honing mathematical skills, and practicing concentration and focus on tasks systematically. The student also develops mathematical thinking.

Chess is an important part of the program. These are activities carried out by all students in grades 1-3. The school has been certified with the program “Chess-friendly School and Kindergarten”.

Healthy Lifestyle Program

Balance in life that combines the physical, psychological, and spiritual spheres forms the foundation of our original Healthy lifestyle program. Conscious living includes taking care of physical health by developing healthy habits and caring for our planet. It is also, perhaps above all, about being a conscious, sensitive person, attentive to our own needs and those of our close and distant environment.

Entrepreneurship development program – AI Wawer pilot program

Developing entrepreneurship skills is beneficial for everyone, regardless of what we do in life. Entrepreneurial skills shaped from a young age help to become independent, improve competencies, and successfully navigate through life.

Our program aims to enable young people to develop entrepreneurial traits such as a proactive attitude, openness, ability to anticipate situations, resilience to failure, and readiness for change. We use the “ABC of Economics” program and collaborate with the Warsaw University of Technology to implement the Economics Program, adapting it for activities with elementary school students.

We intertwine financial education with environmental education (saving water, electricity, light, waste segregation). We support older children in setting goals for themselves. Together, we analyze and prioritize these goals – what will bring value to their lives, what steps need to be taken to achieve the goal, how much time and effort it will take. Throughout the process, we strive to be a support for them. We provide advice when asked and cheer for their success.

We enable students to take action and develop their proactivity. We offer them space to practice and enhance their entrepreneurial skills. Through these activities, they will best understand the characteristics of entrepreneurship, acquire the ability to be proactive, resourceful, and independent.
