An inspiring and creative environment for every child

What distinguishes our facilities? At every stage of development, not only do we pass knowledge tailored to the child's age, but above all, we develop their skills and shape new ones.

We make sure that the children in our pre-schools are independent, courageous, responsible and willing to cooperate. We give our pupils the space to express their own opinions, make decisions and develop creativity. We show the children that by using their own potential in cooperation with others, they are able to achieve much more, and at the same time have fun. And all this to make them open to the world and encourage them to aim high so that in their adult life - regardless of whether they choose to become astronauts, economists, doctors, athletes or artists - they could achieve the goals they set wherever they find themselves.

Bilingualism

The effective program of bilingual language education in Academy International facilities is based on the CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) method. This means simultaneous transmission of content related to a specific area taught and foreign language learning. The child learns the environment described by the teacher in English during play and daily activities.

In pre-school groups, learning English through fun lasts several hours a day. In addition, children realize one or two approximately 30-minute educational cycles according to the curriculum. In all Academy International facilities, a part of the communication with the children takes place exclusively in English - the pupils have the opportunity to interact with the language not only during classes but also at the playground, during brushing teeth or in the cloakroom. This allows our pupils to learn a new language in a natural way, eliminating barriers that arise during traditional teaching.

Additionally, in groups of five- and six-year-olds, we teach children a second foreign language - Spanish.

Dalton environment

We carry out educational activities based on the certified international project "Dalton International".   The Dalton plan is based on the individual work of pupils, which allows to adjust the pace of learning to the actual capabilities of a given child. Thus, we teach our pupils to rely on each other, we raise their initiative and encourage them to look for the best and simplest methods of work.

Working in the Dalton environment, we shape children's independence, ability to cooperate, sense of responsibility for own actions and we encourage them to reflect. Developing these competences in children from the early stages of their lives, we help them build self-esteem and self-confidence, thanks to which they pursue their goals with passion and fulfill their dreams.

Education

At pre-school age, a significant part of the intellectual abilities of a human being and innate predispositions develop, including those relating to learning abilities. With this in mind, and with over 20 years of experience of working with children, we have greatly taken care of effective methods of learning to read and write, mathematics and logical thinking. For many years we have been successfully preparing our pupils to the best schools in Warsaw, including bilingual Academy International schools.

In Academy International, we do not limit ourselves solely to the implementation of the core curriculum. We teach reading and writing in the youngest pre-school groups, using the method of Professor Bronisław Rocławski - Glottodidactics. It allows to develop skills through creative didactic games. This method, extremely effective and appreciated by educators, is focused on the individual mode of learning according to the child's abilities. This idea is close to our philosophy and completely consistent with the assumptions of the Dalton plan.

We teach mathematics based on the methodology of Professor Edyta Gruszczyk-Kolczyńska. She believes that the most important thing in learning this subject is personal experience which is a reference point for concepts and skills. The mathematical education program of prof. Gruszczyk-Kolczyńska includes spatial orientation, rhythms, developing counting, adding and subtracting skills, supporting the development of operational reasoning, developing the ability to measure length, classifying, arranging and solving arithmetic tasks, familiarizing children with the weight and meaning of weighing, measuring liquids, geometric intuition, developing games by children and noting mathematical activities. During learning, each child is accompanied by a teddy bear. The extended mathematics program is one of the foundations of our program of developing logical thinking.

In addition, we are implementing our original program "Mądra Główka-Łamigłówka" in all pre-schools of the Academy International. Its aim is to develop logical thinking, strengthen the emotional immunity of the child and build faith in own abilities. The program is based on a variety of activities that develop thinking and creativity. It is implemented in all age groups. Among younger children, we implement it through logic games, puzzles and verbal and drawing exercises. When working with older children, more emphasis is placed on logic games such as checkers, and for the oldest children, five- and six-year-olds - chess. We hold the "Szachy przyjazne w szkole i przedszkolu" certificate.
